Pharaohs were said to wear jewellery with rubies to enhance their royal status and their love for the people. The ruby was associated with the god Mars (Ares for the Greeks), a symbol of war and courage. Princess Diana was known for her elegant and sophisticated style. She often wore jewellery with rubies, including a bracelet with rubies and diamonds that was beloved by the public.
